It may feel like a faux spring, but don't be fooled - we still have a long time to go before primo skimo, 🌽 harvesting, traversy conditions. Still, I can't help but start thinking about spring skiing, like this shot skiing off Austera Peak as a part of the 4 day "Pearl Necklace Tour" with @doug_hutchinson and @porter.mcmichael one fine May. Steep couloirs, wondrous camps, glacial traverses - this one had it all.
Pondering a retirement from ski mountaineering and to become a freerider 😂. Swipe right to see the first attempt.
Powder and sun is a dangerous combination in washington. Usually its lifespan lasts in the order of minutes. Happy to snag this amazing run with @thelongride and @porter.mcmichael before the cold smoke became hot pow.
Das toof, the fire, the flame, the flood.
Where the mountains end and the sky begins.
WA ice. #theelusivebeast
